Welcome to the Institute of Archaeology
Jagiellonian University website
Our Institute is the oldest archaeological university institution in Poland. Since 1863 it has been incessantly carrying out research, teaching and popularizing activity. It has educated many brilliant and highly regarded scholars and academic teachers. At present, the Institute is conducting a number of excavations in Poland and abroad. It is also training over 400 of students to become archaeologists and specialists in the field of the ancient civilizations heritage.
